GCSE Results - Celebrating the achievements of our students AND A YEAR OF EXCELLENT RESULTS
Students and staff at Maiden Erlegh Chiltern Edge are today celebrating a year of excellent GCSE results. We are proud of the determination, effort, and perseverance they have shown throughout their time at school.
70% of students achieved at least five GCSEs at grades 4–9 - a pleasing uplift from last year's headline figure of 43% - reflecting the commitment of students over their years at the school to succeed. Additionally, this year, 18% of all grades awarded were at Grade 7 or above, with 16% of the cohort bagging one or more of the coveted Grade 9s within their suite of results - a testament to their hard work, determination and the culture of high aspirations that has been built at the school.
Headteacher, Emma Bliss, said:
“I am immensely proud of this year’s GCSE cohort, and these results are a reflection not only of their hard work and resilience, but also of the strong desire to be the very best versions of themselves. In all 24 different GCSE qualifications were sat across the cohort allowing for students to flourish in all areas of the curriculum. These outcomes will give our students a fantastic foundation for the next stage of their education or training. I must extend a huge thank you to the staff at MECE who have supported these students every step of the way and can be rightfully proud of these results.”
Students this morning arriving with their parents to collect their results expressed their gratitude to staff for their belief and support throughout their journey at Maiden Erlegh Chiltern Edge. They were particularly grateful for the opportunities to take additional qualifications including Further Maths and a range of additional Language GCSEs and for the extensive efforts behind the scenes to ensure they were prepared for success in their exams. The encouragement and expertise of teachers, coupled with the dedication of students, have together created a culture of success.
As these students move forward to sixth form, college, or apprenticeships, all in the MECE community wishes them every success in the exciting paths ahead and look forward to hearing how they progress over the next stages of their academic and working careers.
