Sports day
The pinnacle event of our House Calendar and the day where House Pride and loyalties really come to the forefront. The morning saw students participate in the field events as well as the 800m. Stepping out onto the field at this time was hugely satisfying seeing students cheering each other on and having a go at events to earn points for their Houses.
The event winners proudly sporting their hand-made medals (thanks to Mr Reskalla) and all the points being totted up in real time (thanks to Mrs Audsley). Sports Day is always made more special with some of our Year 11 (and this year, Year 11s from 2024) coming back to help run the events – their willingness to give up their time to come along and help speaks volumes about their everlasting pride and loyalty to the school. Sports Day concludes with the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relays. The atmosphere was building across the afternoon, thanks in no small part to resident DJ and stadium announcer, Mr Harte, and it was fitting that the overall results came down to the last race of the afternoon! A huge congratulations to Abbey House who came out victorious.
