Pastoral support

We are very proud of the quality of our pastoral care which means that students are known and valued as individuals. Each student is part of a mixed ability, diverse and inclusive tutor group and has their own personal tutor who usually follows them from Year 7 through to Year 11

Students will meet with their tutor to register each morning and afternoon.  During these sessions, the tutors share notices and information that is pertinent to students, which include opportunities for involvement in student voice, and enrichment activities.  Tutors will also check the pupil’s planners. These need to be signed each week by students, parents and tutors.

Each group of tutors is led by a Director of Learning, who is responsible for coordinating support for the Key Stage in their academic work, but also ensuring they have access to leadership and enrichment opportunities. They are supported by Attendance Behaviour Welfare Office. If parents have concerns or wish to discuss the pastoral care of a student they should see to contact the Director of Learning through the school office.
